Perfect Rims offer a Diamond Cutting process which is a premium service that offers the finest finish for your alloy wheels. The precision cut applied to your alloy wheels removes only what is required, allowing more cuts compared to other alloy wheel refurbishment methods.

The process involves cleaning your alloys using a specialist aqua jet machine which ensures all dirt, tar, and grit is removed completely before any repairs are carried out. We also sandblast your wheel to remove any defects ready for the powder coating process. This allows our technicians to get a better look at the condition of the wheel to determine what repair processes are required. Once the alloy wheel is clean, the surface of the wheel is precision cut on a lathe, which leaves a high cut shiny finish.

The process is completed by coating the wheel with a scratch proof lacquer and baked in our alloy wheel oven. At this stage the alloys are carefully quality checked by our team of experts keeping the finish to a high standard. The tyres are then refitted, inflated to the correct pressure and re-balanced.

You can create a whole range of designs with the diamond cut finish. You can powder coat your wheel any range of colours, then diamond cut just the rim or the full face. Alloy Wheel Refurbishment Process

Your wheel is assessed by one of our team of trained experts. Our team will provide a report of the condition of the wheel. They will then go through your requirements for the wheel, including colour scheme, powder coating, diamond cutting to make sure we meet all of your requirements.
Your wheels are removed from the vehicle
Your tyres are removed from the wheel.
Old paint is removed from the wheel. The wheels are dipped in hydrofluoric acid to remove all dirt and paint, returning the wheels back to bare alloy
Your wheels are sand blasted using our state-of-the-art Sandblasting machine.
Any further damage is repaired using various techniques. Welding and filling to fill minor scratches and cracks. Any distortions are corrected
Your wheels are then powder coated. This is the most durable finish that can be applied to your wheels. This can be applied in a variety of different colours and styles
Your wheels are sprayed with a protective lacquer
Your wheels are baked dry in our oven at around 165 Celsius
Your wheels are then sent for Diamond Cutting. Diamond cutting entails skimming your alloys using a state-of-the-art CNC lathe, leaving a sophisticated shined finish
Our team of experts check the quality of finish on your wheel to make sure there are no imperfections or chemical reactions. All work is quality assured.
Your tyres are refitted to your wheel, they are then put back to the recommended PSI and re balanced.

Split Rim Wheel Refurbishment

A lot of modern vehicles and prestige vehicles come with split rims. This is not a problem for us at Perfect Rims, as our team of experts are able to tackle all kinds of split rims. Split Rims are becoming more and more popular due to their distinctive appearance and versatility in the type of finish that can be applied to them.

The process to refurbishing a split rim wheel is a complex process, which involves a lot of expertise. To break the process down you need to first split the wheels and then bathe the wheel in special chemicals to remove old paint and corrosion. Once this is completed you would then sandblast the wheel to make sure it is flaw free and ready for powder coating and diamond cutting (whichever you choose). Due to the process and time spent on split rim wheels they would be a premium service refurbishment.

Cleaning Refurbished Wheels

Cleaning your refurbished wheels is simple, just use the tried and tested method of hot soapy water and non-abrasive cloths. Do NOT use high PH (acidic) cleaners since these may affect the finish of your alloy wheel and invalidate your warranty.
